SALISBURY — Old Stone Winery recently won three medals at the Florida State International Wine Competition.
Old Stone’s winning wines included the 2010 Cabernet Franc (new release), 2010 Merlot (unreleased) and the winery’s top-selling Sweet Muscadine (Carlos).
The competition featured 1,067 wines in the commercial winery division. A panel of experts judged each wine in a blind tasting and awarded a total of 880 medals.
Old Stone Winery was established in 2003 as Rowan County’s first commercial winery. It offers more than 18 wines produced from locally grown grapes.
